MS Positive is a Mitzvah Day partner. On Sunday 18th November we will be holding an open introduction to MS Positive to people with MS and their families and friends at the Tang Long Chinese Culture Centre on St Alban’s Lane in Golders Green.
It will be a year since we formally launched on Mitzvah Day 2017, since when we have gone from strength to strength. We now hold weekly pilates and Tai Chi lessons at the Centre which are free and open to all. We also provide practical and emotional support to people diagnosed with MS and are in the process of setting up a strategic relationship with the Harrow MS Therapy Centre to better support their clients.
For Mitzvah Day 2018, we will be offering a short talk on healthy living for people impacted by MS followed by taster pilates and Tai Chi sessions, as well as an opportunity to meet all our coaches and our inspirational chair, Toni Krok. The full programme looks like this:
10.30am Welcome by Toni and thank you to our teachers
10.50am Introduction to Thai Chi – a mixture of explanation of the specific benefits and exercise
11.20am Introduction to Pilates – as above
11.50pm Refreshments and discussion about MS
We are not a Jewish charity and our sessions are very much open to all, but we are delighted to enjoy huge support from across the Jewish community and so sharing our programming with Mitzvah Day feels like a perfect fit.
