Mitzvah Day launch “still doing something and trying” – read Toni here

Hi to all our MSP supporters.

Thank you for today . Today was both an amazing and hard day for me.

It was a dream come true in the sense that training day had started!  This is what I walked up the volcano for – to help those with MS – whilst at the same time feeding my soul, because I am helping people.

It’s a weird thought but I’m a bit like a parasite: I’m feeding my soul off other people’s woes . The only difference being that my woes are no different.  Whilst sitting in the studio it dawned on me that each and every person with this disease has the same thought: “ I can’t do what I used to do.  It makes me mad.”

All of us today physically look so different , some have RRMS , some have PPMS , some have SPPMS , so in a nutshell physically we feel the disease differently – but emotionally we all have one BIG struggle and that’s that we can’t do what we used to do and it drives us mad.

The lesson I once again learned today and would like to try help everyone with is that YOU BLOODY WELL CAN’T DO WHAT YOU USED TO BUT YOU CAN DO WHAT YOU CAN TODAY WITH DETERMINATION AND WITH PRIDE ,BECAUSE YOU ARE STILL DOING SOMETHING AND TRYING.

I know it’s frustrating but it’s life and we have no choice, but we need to accept it and all do the best we can with what we have. I used to run up and down the tennis court like a possessed person, now if I manage 5 good shots I feel like Boris Becker.

And that, today, will do me fine.
